The week of May 6-10 is Safety and Health Week and things got off to an active start on Day One.

In Hay River, the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee hosted an event in the atrium that focused on Safe Work Procedures and Safe Job Practices. A talented (?) group of employee actors drew the titles of of procedures or practices from a hat and and demonstrated that title through the use of charades. The rest of the crowd had to guess what the heck their colleagues were trying to demonstrate. Thank you to everyone who participated.

At Jackfish, Dean and his management team hosted a barbecue to celebrate Safety and Health Week on Monday afternoon. Lots of sunshine and good food. More photos can be found here.

Events are scheduled at all of our regional centres throughout the week as well as messages from Health, Safety and Environment focused on hearing protection.

The Hay River Social Committee hosted a bean-bag toss tournament at the head office this afternoon.

After many close games and several rounds of play, NTPC's favorite (and only) Director of Finance Chuck Myles emerged victorious after a final round victory over fellow Finance Department member Rodrigo Lopez Garcia -- winning the illustrious Flying Pig Trophy.

Monica Carbajal of the Human Resources Department showed some impressive skills as she earned a third place finish.

Stay tuned for more events from the Hay River Social Committee!
