On Wednesday, February 23 NTPC joined with officials from the GNWT, the Government of Canada and the Gwich'in Tribal Council (GTC) at a media briefing to announce the start of construction of the access road to the Inuvik Wind site. Bruno Pereira, Acting Director of NT Energy, was a participant, providing technical support to Minister Diane Archie, MP Michael McLeod and Grand Chief Ken Kyikavichik of the GTC.

Construction of the road is underway and construction of the wind turbine will get underway later this year. The turbine is expected to be operational by early next year.

NTPC recently received a series of thank you cards from members of the Hay River Karate Club. The club was the recipient of a $1000 sponsorship through our Community Investment Program.

After being unable to gather during the recent Omicron breakout, club members were excited to resume their training.

There is merriment to be had as we wrapped up our tasks until after the festive Christmas holidays - Hay River employees took some time to gather on December 24 to enjoy treats, holiday movie clips, good conversation and to show off our "ugliest" sweaters. Extra treats of hot chocolate and candy canes to enjoy over the break were distributed to those who participated in the ugly sweater contest put on by the Hay River Social Committee (thank you to everyone who participated!).

Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, may you all be safe and well! Here's to a successful 2022!
