Approximately 20 people attended the annual Children's Christmas Party last weekend at the Hay River Ski Club. There were games, presents and lots of food available for everyone.

The event is funded by both the Union of Northern Workers (Local 22) and the Hay River Social Committee.

Thank you to everyone who helped assemble our float for the Hay River Santa Claus Parade on November 25. We were one of 15 floats registered for the 2022 parade.

NTPC sponsors a number of seasonal events in communities right across the NWT, with a number of our employees being active participants.

Adding a new technology, such as wind, to our generation mix helps reduce our reliance on diesel but also provides opportunities for employees to learn new skills.

Five Thermal Division employees recently completed two weeks of Wind Turbine Technician training in preparation for the Inuvik High Point Wind Project being completed next year. Riley Broadhagen, Peter Voudrach, Cory Baetz, Julio Agular and Jacob Pokiak travelled to Montreal for this training, which was provided by Enercon, one of world's leading companies in the wind energy industry.

Our five employees focused on electric trouble shooting, confined space entry, proper use of gear for climbing the tower as well as rescue procedures on and in the tower.

The facility where they received this training is the same location where Enercon trains their own technicians. See more pictures here.

We all look forward to seeing these new skills put into practice once the wind turbine has been commissioned!

When you are going on leave, and someone will be acting in your role you must complete the following form:

Temporary Delegation of Signing or Acting Authority
-- to be filled out when delegating someone to act or sign for you while on leave

Please remember to fill it out at least a day prior to going on leave as there is multiple approvals if acting and signing authority is being delegated. This will allow time for approvals and rework of the form if necessary.
