Responding to a series of emergency events requires the direct and indirect support of an entire organization. The 2021 spring breakup has been no exception, with floods doing significant damage in Jean Marie River, Fort Simpson and Fort Good Hope. Operational and T & D employees were on the ground in difficult situations for an extended period time making sure that power was available to customers as soon as it was safe to do so.

Now that you have figured out what solutions you have it is time to finalize the process, develop implementation plans and perform the proper communication to ensure that all your hard work gets integrated successfully.

IMPROVE PHASE

Develop a Future State Process and Identify Solutions

Welcome everyone to the fourth stop of your DMAIC journey, the Improve Phase. Now that we have the Current State and Gap Analysis completed it is time for us to get improving! Here we will brainstorm what the solutions are for the opportunities identified in the Gap Analysis. We will take these solutions and pilot them and validate that they will work. Welcome to the fun part; let's get going!

ANALYZE PHASE

Analyze the Current State for opportunities and gaps!

Welcome everyone to the third stop of your DMAIC journey, the Anaylze Phase. Now that we have the Current State of the process we need to figure out what would make that process better. In other words, what are the root causes to the problems we are experiencing? The focus of this Phase is to NOT find solutions but to ensure we know what the root problems are. If we try to solution without knowing the root problems we are at risk of not improving the process successfully!

MEASURE PHASE

Measure

Welcome everyone to the second stop of your DMAIC journey, the Measure Phase. This is where we need to figure out what the current process is, collect supporting data internally or externally and ensure our focus from the Project Charter is still accurate. In this Phase we will be answering the following critical question: How does the process currently perform? Or in other words, what is the magnitude of the problem? Let's get to it, shall we?
