You've made it. Well done! It has been quite the journey but this is the final step, and some would say it is the most important. Let's jump right in and take a look at what we need to do next shall we?

Now that you have figured out what solutions you have it is time to finalize the process, develop implementation plans and perform the proper communication to ensure that all your hard work gets integrated successfully.

IMPROVE PHASE

Develop a Future State Process and Identify Solutions

Welcome everyone to the fourth stop of your DMAIC journey, the Improve Phase. Now that we have the Current State and Gap Analysis completed it is time for us to get improving! Here we will brainstorm what the solutions are for the opportunities identified in the Gap Analysis. We will take these solutions and pilot them and validate that they will work. Welcome to the fun part; let's get going!

ANALYZE PHASE

Analyze the Current State for opportunities and gaps!

Welcome everyone to the third stop of your DMAIC journey, the Anaylze Phase. Now that we have the Current State of the process we need to figure out what would make that process better. In other words, what are the root causes to the problems we are experiencing? The focus of this Phase is to NOT find solutions but to ensure we know what the root problems are. If we try to solution without knowing the root problems we are at risk of not improving the process successfully!

MEASURE PHASE

Measure

Welcome everyone to the second stop of your DMAIC journey, the Measure Phase. This is where we need to figure out what the current process is, collect supporting data internally or externally and ensure our focus from the Project Charter is still accurate. In this Phase we will be answering the following critical question: How does the process currently perform? Or in other words, what is the magnitude of the problem? Let's get to it, shall we?

Variable Speed Generator in Aklavik Successfully Commissioned

Almost two years after NTPC began working with the supplier, the Variable Speed Generator (VSG) is up and running in Aklavik. The VSG is projected to reduce diesel consumption by approximately 80,000 litres per year which would result in a greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction of 210 tonnes.

Numerous employees across several divisions supported the effort to bring this innovative new technology to the NWT. Thank you all for your hard work.

2016 Snare Forest Fires

The crews out at the Snare hydro site have been working non-stop, alonside ENR (firefighters for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources) since early July keeping the fires from damaging assets at the site - and what job they've been doing!

Only eighteen wooden distribution poles running to CN Hill, where there are a couple of small buildings and a communications tower, were destroyed by fire, along with damage to three wooden transmission structures (poles) and one span of tranmission wire. The majority of the damage has already been repaired.
