CONTROL PHASE

Plan and Implement the Solutions

You've made it. Well done! It has been quite the journey but this is the final step, and some would say it is the most important. Let's jump right in and take a look at what we need to do next shall we?

Now that you have figured out what solutions you have it is time to finalize the process, develop implementation plans and perform the proper communication to ensure that all your hard work gets integrated successfully.

Do you have the Final Process Map completed?

If your answer to this is no, then perhaps it is time to facilitate an exercise to ensure that the new Future State process is documented and ready for communication and filing!

Time to develop some Implementation Plans:

Implementation plans are to be created for every solution to ensure that they are successfully implemented. These plans allow the project owner to monitor the tasks and timelines of the implementation.
Do not fret, we have sample Implementation Plans you can view in our CI Toolbox here.

Let's communicate the change effectively

While you and your team may know exactly what the changes will be and how it will affect the organization, others may have no idea. Without proper communication, training and Change Management you may find that your innovative solutions are seen as more of creative headaches. To avoid this you need to ensure you perform the following:
  1. Have the owners of the process communicate to ALL affected individuals that the changes are coming,
  2. Walk through the Final Process Maps with affected parties to help them see where they fit in, and
  3. Demonstrate how the change will benefit everyone!
Showcase your hard work by getting everyone involved. We are all in this together.

Lastly, time to celebrate the good times...

There is nothing better than leaning back and relishing in the hard work that has been completed. Change is not easy but it sure as heck is rewarding. Even if it is something small do something to show your appreciation to ALL parties who helped you and your team along the way.

Until we meet again,
