At a ceremony in Ottawa last evening, Derwin Clille, our plant superintendent in Jean Marie River, received an Electricity Canada Lifesaving Award.

Derwin attended the scene of a house fire in JMR last August and discovered an elderly person trapped in the burning house. Derwin grabbed a ladder and took it to the window and rescued the elder out of the burning house, saving his life. A copy of the news release issued by Electricity Canada can be found at this link.

Congratulations and thank you Derwin for your heroic actions from all of us at NTPC.

We are asking all NTPC employees to complete the Guarding Minds at Work Survey between October 21st and November 8th, 2024. Your feedback is important to help guide our next steps as we continue to implement The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety (The Standard).

Since the last time we ran this survey in 2021, we have done a lot of work to increase awareness of what psychological safety is and how we all contribute. We have developed You Matter at NTPC, and updated connected policies and processes that commit to a physically AND psychologically safe workplace.

Now, we need to hear from you again to continue our journey.

Please take 15-20 minutes to complete the survey before Friday.
