On Friday November 24 the Hay River Social Club hosted a Christmas party that will not soon be forgotten, hopefully! The event was held upstairs in the Hay River legion and was full of shinanigans. From Santa dramatic theater to games risqué the night was full of twists, turns and unforeseenable plots... If you do not believe us just go ask Jay and Sam about how to properly neck an orange!

The Hay River Social Club is always up to something... And we are always wholeheartedly welcoming your participation and support. Everyone's enjoyment in these activities is just one reason as to why the NTPC is such a great place to work. Please click here if you would like to see what bonker things Hay River Social Club is up to next!

We cannot wait for next year's partay! We will put an album up with pictures on our page as soon as we are able.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM US TO YOU

There is a new file

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has released its decision on Phase I of the NTPC's General Rate Application (GRA). Senior leadership is reviewing the decision, assessing its impacts and will be providing follow-up documentation to the PUB by February 15, 2018.

It is important to note that the decision on Phase I does not mark the end of the GRA process but is an important milestone for NTPC. A copy of the decision is attached.

Further information will be provided to employees as it becomes available.

This is a reminder that all Site Orientation Forms should be filed at the plant site and on the project file.  They are no longer sent to the Training & Development Specialist.  If there are any questions, please contact your Health & Safety Coordinator.

Staff at Jackfish Lake played host to groups of grade 8 students for the Skills Canada Power Up! youth conferences on November 20 & 21. This event gives grade 8 students from Yellowknife and surrounding communities the opportunity to visit workplaces around the city to learn about careers in skilled trades and technology. NTPC has been participating in this event for the last three years, and many of our employees have taken up the challenge of representing their careers for the students.

This year's volunteer presenters included: Michelle Leger (Ft. Simpson), Erin Dean (Hay River), and Darren Hazenberg, Edwin Tejuco, Morris Callahan, Robert Burgin, Stuart Robinson and Eileen Hendry (Yellowknife). Special thanks also go out to Kristin Slade and Vern Gardiner (Hay River) for helping with the planning & making sure stuff was shipped on time, and to Kells Bissell and Lane Dewar (Yellowknife) for helping get everything set up in the K Plant.

For more photos from the Power Up! workshops, including some great shots of the girls watching Darren demonstrate a pole top rescue, check out this album on the Skills Canada NWT Facebook page.
