Almost two years after NTPC began working with the supplier, the Variable Speed Generator (VSG) is up and running in Aklavik. The VSG is projected to reduce diesel consumption by approximately 80,000 litres per year which would result in a greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction of 210 tonnes.

Numerous employees across several divisions supported the effort to bring this innovative new technology to the NWT. Thank you all for your hard work.

A news release announcing the start of the 12 month pilot project is attached.

Today is an exciting day for NTPC!

We now have an alternative to YakTrax in our inventory: the Geroline K1 Midsole Ice Cleat; available in a regular and low-profile version.  The advantage of the Geroline is versatility.  The hi-vis band slips over the toe of the boot and is worn mid-sole.  It can be worn on the boot all day - when you enter a building or vehicle, simply rotate the cleats to the top of the boot.  Winter's not over yet - stay safe out there, and stay grippy!
