Operations are well aware that we need to be ready at all times to respond to changing circumstances, including outages.

Thermal Division mechanic Ned Day brought this awareness to his personal life recently. Ned purchased a new motorbike this summer in Whitehorse and drove it back to Inuvik. The weather changed while he was on route but fortunately he was well prepared with his fashionable one-time use Northern raincoat.

Great work in adjusting to the unexpected!

We recently received a very nice thank you note from the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation for our support of Summer Literacy Camps and want to share it with employees. Education and youth are high priorities for the Corporation and the camps were a perfect fit for our Community Investment Program.

Good morning,

On behalf of the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, we would like to thank you for your contribution and partnership in the success of our first ever Inuvialuit Summer Literacy Camps hosted in the Northwest Territories. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. Between Aklavik, Tuktoyaktuk, and Inuvik, we provided a 3-week summer literacy camp at no cost to over 100 youth!

Again, thank you for your support – we look forward to improving and delivering this program for future years to come as we believe that literacy development is a critical component to the success of our future leaders.

All of the best to you in your future endeavours and enjoy the rest of your summer!

The shores of Hay River were lined with the eager fisherman/fisherwomen of the NTPC. The fish barely stood in a chance against the Orange Tide. Pickerel and Pike fell victim over and over as we tricked them into biting onto, possibly, the most dangerous snack of all... The forbidden lure one might say. But in all seriousness we were mainly just doing catch and release, so those fish did not have to get too worried!

In total about 30+ fishies were snagged in this eventful hour and half race to catch the fattest fish. Now, who would have known that Henry was a heck of a fisherman. His cast almost cleared the river and with each catch he reeled in another. Perhaps go take a look at our album by clicking here!

And if you are curious about what is next to come from the Hay River Social Committee you can CLICK HERE... A little birdy told me it may or may not be called The Amazing Race.
