A new diesel plant has started its long journey to Sachs Harbour. The plant will be delivered by truck to Hay River and will then be transferred to a barge for the remainder of the trip.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, construction work to install the plant has been deferred until next year. It will be safely stored on land owned by the Hamlet of Sachs Harbour.

Last summer, several outages in Yellowknife and a damaged pole were traced back to an osprey nest on the Bluefish transmission line. After receiving approval from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, a linecrew moved the nest to a platform that was built nearby.

Earlier this month, we discovered that the platform is being used again this year. NTPC seems to be in the bird housing business!! If you build it, they will come.
