Asbestos inspections are conducted to identify the location of asbestos containing materials (ACM), the types of asbestos present, and the condition of the ACM (i.e., whether ACM are releasing, or are likely to release, asbestos dust into the atmosphere). Follow-up asbestos inspections shall be conducted a minimum of annually on all identified ACM to determine whether there has been any damage or deterioration since the last inspection.

All asbestos containing materials that are managed in place must be documented on Form 14.16.3: Asbestos Management Plan.
Prior to conducting abatement an Asbestos Abatement Plan shall be completed by a competent worker (using Form 14.16.4: Asbestos Abatement Plan) or qualified asbestos abatement contractor.
The Asbestos Abatement Plan shall be submitted to the Health & Safety Department for review and approval a minimum of 14 days before project start.
A WSCC Asbestos Project Notification Form along with the finalized Asbestos Abatement Plan shall be submitted to WSCC ([email protected]) for approval a minimum of 72 hours prior to starting asbestos abatement work.
Within 14 days of project completion the Project Manager shall submit Form 14.16.5: Asbestos Abatement Report to the Health & Safety Department.
