Responsibilities

Provide reliable and cost effective design, maintenance, administration, training and support of all corporate information systems that include desktop computing hardware and applications, websites, business enterprise applications, email, telephone and voice, print and copy services, mobile computing devices, data servers, and network operations;

Develop and implement short and long term strategies, budgets, work plans, policies and procedures to ensure efficient, cost effective, and sustainable information systems programs and services;

Identify and recommend corporate business process improvement opportunities through the use of new or existing information systems;

Develop and manage controls and programs to protect corporate investments in management information systems and data;

Develop and oversee policies, procedures and systems related to corporate document and records management;

Manage relations with consultants and contractors concerning the purchase, supply and technical support of information systems.
Helping NTPC to achieve its mission
In alignment with corporate goals of employee, operational, financial and customer service excellence, the IT department aims to provide quality information technology solutions that are cost effective, sustainable and match the information processing needs of our internal customers. This serves to promote increased productivity, improved decision making, reduced business risk, and lower cost of service associated with the provision of power throughout the Northwest Territories.
Assets
IT manages, maintains, and supports over 2000 hardware and software information systems assets for NTPC and NTEC which includes desktops and laptops, mobile devices, telephone systems, local and wide area network infrastructure, productivity applications, an enterprise resource planning system, email system, document and records management systems, server infrastructure and print and copy devices.
