Members of the Senior Leadership Team and other employees participated in training earlier this week that resulted in certification for the Incident Command System (ICS) 1-100. This is an introductory course to an emergency response command structure that is used by fire departments, municipalities, government and industry across Canada and around the world. It helps ensure that different organizations are able to work together effectively during an emergency by using common language and making responsiblities and accountabilities very clear both within an organization and across mulitiple organizations. Our Emergency Response Plan has been based on similar principles but is being updated to more fully reflect the Incident Command approach.
Additional employees will be trained in ICS to strengthen our ability to respond effectively to any emergecy situation that may arise.
