NTPC staff at Jackfish Lake hosted grade eight students for Skills Canada NWT's Annual Power Up! Youth conferences on November 21-22. This event gives students the opportunity to explore different career opportunities in skilled trades by visiting work sites around the city. Students visiting Jackfish participated in a variety of activities, including learning about electricity generation with the generator bike and a wind turbine design challenge, touring the diesel plants and control room, and skills demonstrations by the line crew. This was the second year NTPC has participated in this event, and it is an excellent oppportunity to showcase the variety of career options in our industry.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success, including: Deaon Hope, Clod Manolo, Keith Doran, Morris Callahan, Colin Steed, Erin Dean, and Eileen Hendry. Check out the attachment below for more photos from this event.
