A fun new tool for engaging the public in discussions about energy use, electricity generation, and conservation arrived in Hay River this month. It's a stationary bicycle equipped with an electrical generator and USB charging outlets. The USB outlets can be used to charge cell phones, or to power small devices such as speakers or a small fan. Staff at the Hay River office tried it out on Monday afternoon this week, and responses so far have been enthusiastic. The bike is booked for appearances at Trade Shows in Fort Smith and Yellowknife over the next few weeks.
