This policy provides support for current employees of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation who wish to pursue post-secondary and graduate education opportunities to enhance their job performance capabilities and improve their prospects for advancement within NTPC.
NTPC has adopted this policy to provide its employees with education assistance in a non-discriminatory and uniform manner.
The public should be confident that the Corporation will consistently and fairly protect the information entrusted to it. Therefore, the protection of privacy should be incorporated into the regular activities of everyone employed by the Corporation, and considered in the development and delivery of all programs and services.
The Corporation has a purchasing policy to ensure that when purchasing goods and services the best value for the Corporation’s Customers and shareholders has been obtained while prioritizing Northern Suppliers, where possible, to support Northern Businesses, workers, and the economy.
The Corporation will provide data, as may be readily available from records and deemed public information to external agencies (consultants, government departments) provided that doing so does not unduly burden Corporate resources.
Should the fulfillment of a request for information involve resources in excess of two person hours the Corporation will expect fair compensation for the time involved.
Where economic opportunity is identified, the Northwest Territories Power Corporation will endeavour to maximize the energy efficiency of its operation through the use of residual heat.
This policy outlines the procedure for applying for sabbatical leave of either six months or one year. Six month and one year sabbatical agreements are included as appendices to the policy.
